28 June 2025. Carrbridge and Grantown on Spey, Scotland. This is a very large wind driven wildfire all over hills between Carrbridge and Grantown and Spey. The Fire is being fought by the Fire Brigade and a large amount of Gamekeepers using their specialist off road vehcles and leaf blowers to put ot the flames. However, the fire expands over miles of areas. The Police issued the following PR - PR 42343 28 June 2025 For immediate release Road closures in Carrbridge area after fire The B9007 is closed from the junction at Duthil to Ferness due to a fire which was reported at 4.05pm on Saturday, 28 June, 2025. And the A939 is closed at Granton-on-Spey to Ferness and the A940 is closed at Dava. Emergency services are in attendance. Please avoid the area, if possible. Nearby residents are also advised to keep windows and doors closed.
