BUCKINGHAMSHIRE, UK. THESE THREE owl babies could grace the cover of Martin Waddell?s classic children?s book, Owl Babies. This sweet trio of tawny owlets was snuggling together on a tree branch, all posing for the camera in perfect unison ? despite the photographer never having spotted wild owls before. Another cute shot shows one playful owl that appears to be playing peek-a-boo with the photographer as he sticks his head up above a branch. Owl Babies became a popular children?s book since its release in 1992. Telling a re-assuring tale of bravery and sibling-love in the absence of mother, the book remains a favourite with parents and children a-like. These charming images were captured by British photographer Danielle Lennon just a stone?s throw away from her back garden in Buckinghamshire. ?I have been listening to a male Tawny owl calling near my back garden for years but never located its roosting sites, ? she said. ?I recorded the sound and sent it to a birder friend, who said he believed it was Tawny owlets. ?Whilst looking through binoculars for them at one tree I heard one call behind me. ?Upon turning around I also discovered I didn't need the binoculars. I spent a few minutes watching and photographing one owlet and could hear, but not see, a second. ?I knew from my prior recording that there was more than one owlet but I did not know how many. I was so happy, two owlets. ?Then, to my surprise, I realised that there was a third owlet hiding behind the second and a branch.? Tawny owls lay two to three eggs over a period of a couple of days making it likely that these three are siblings. Danielle captured these marvellous images on her Nikon D7500 with Sigma Sport 150mm-600mm lens from around 80 feet-away. ?Had I not been carrying my heavy camera, I would have been jumping with joy, ? she said. ?As soon as I left, I immediately called my best friend and then walked very fast home to tell my family and edit the images. ?Being
