Concorde - the ultimate 'Speedbird' - only 20 aircraft were built including the six prototypes. Such an elegant aircraft! F-BVFA (c/n 205) - the first of Air France's fleet of seven Concordes - seen under tow in a corner of Paris CDG (Roissy) airfield. The only chance of seeing a Concorde with the nose up was when static or under tow, as they always taxied with the nose drooped. Spot the armed gendarme :) Apparently, this aircraft did not fly on May 28, 1983, but was prepared as the reserve aircraft for the presidential flight AF100F. F-BVFC was used that day on the presidential flight from Paris CDG - Langley AFB. Official trip of François Mitterand, President of the French Republic to the Williamsburg Summit. F-BVFA first flew on 27 Oct 1976 from Toulouse. In 1988 it flew around the world in a record breaking (at the time) 41 hours 27 minutes. It made its final flight on 12 Jun 2003 and ended it's career clocking up 17, 824 flying hours.
