The Province of Alberta, Legislative Assembly Building, is located in Edmonton, Alberta on a site that was once part of the frontier fort (Fort Edmonton) that resulted in the settlement of the Canadian west. The Assembly is unicameral and has met here since the late nineteenth century. This image shows the formal entrance to Government House in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Originally (1905) built as a residence for the Lieutenant Governor, it was later sold, then reacquired and is now used as an official conference center, for ceremonial functions, and for the monthly caucus of the governing party. It is on the grounds of the Royal Alberta Museum.
