The Elephant Valley Project is an elephant sanctuary run by enthusiastic Jack Highwood. The NGO is dedicated to helping the domestic elephant population of Mondulkiri Province. They work primarily with the tribal Phnong peoples of Mondulkiri to help them & help their elephants. Their end goal is the betterment of the welfare and living conditions of the elephants owned by the Phnong. We spent a day at the sanctuary to understand the incredible work which was being performed, learn about elephants, feed them, shower them, walk along with them in the jungle. It was definetely a fabulous experience and one of most memorable experiences in Cambodia. For more info, visit http://www.elephantvalleyproject.org.
