Altre informazioni

The White-tailed eagle (Haliaeetus albicilla) is the UK’s largest bird of prey, boasting an impressive wingspan of up to 2.5 metres. Sadly, during the early 20th century, it became extinct in the UK, primarily due to illegal killing. The current population is a result of successful reintroduction efforts. These majestic eagles primarily feed on fish, but they also hunt various birds, rabbits, and hares for sustenance. Their body plumage is predominantly brown, with a strikingly pale head and neck, which becomes even whiter as they age. Additionally, adult birds exhibit the beautiful white tail feathers for which they are named.
