Parisite - (Ce) with Aegirine, Mount Malosa, Malawi, East African Rift Zone A source of rare earth elements... Parisite-(Ce) with aegirine from Mount Malosa, Malawi, forms in striking combinations where tabular to prismatic crystals of the rare-earth carbonate-fluoride parisite-(Ce) are intergrown with long, slender dark green to black crystals of aegirine. Parisite-(Ce), rich in cerium, forms in peralkaline pegmatites and is associated with other unusual minerals of the East African Rift Zone. The contrasting colors and crystal habits make these specimens highly desirable among collectors of rare earth element minerals.
