Space robot prototypes developed by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) and other organizations are evaluated for the future moon explorations at the Nakatajima sand dunes in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka Prefecture on March 13 , 2012. JAXA, which plans to build an exploration base on the lunar south pole in 2020, aims to put the robots to practical use in 2025 at the earliest.
