The interior of The Wave, NTU's first sustainable sports hall. Singapore will have the region's first sustainable sports hall when Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU Singapore) officially opens its latest sports facility. It is the first in Southeast Asia to be built using an innovative wood construction technology. Through the unique construction method of using engineered wood, the hall is able to support a 72 metre wave-like timber roof which allows columns to be built outside the facility. This opens up a massive column-less space that is able to host 13 full-sized badminton
