An advertisement for 3D-printed ice cream bars resembling Japanese military leader and war criminal Gen. Hideki Tojo is pictured at an Iceason ice-cream store in Shanghai, China, 31 August 2015. As Beijing gears up to host a large-scale military parade marking the anniversary of the end of World War II, a company in Shanghai is taking a different approach to the occasion ¨C by making 3D-printed ice cream bars resembling Japanese military leader and war criminal Gen. Hideki Tojo. The frozen desserts are part of a promotion by Iceason, a brand belonging to Shanghai's largest dairy state-owned enterprise Bright Foods. A poster for the ice cream bars tells customers, "Never Forget the National Tooth, " according to images posted on Chinese social media. The message is a play on "Never Forget the National Humiliation, " a popular nationalistic slogan emphasizing the transgressions of foreign powers in China during the 19th and 20th centuries. Gen. Tojo, Japan's prime minister for most of the war, was executed by hanging in 1948. He is among the war criminals enshrined in Tokyo's Yasukuni Shrine.
