The newest district in Aarau - the Aeschbach -District or das Aeschbachquartier - was planned and raised as one unity. It houses 250 apartments, businesses with 1400 workingsplaces, some restaurants and a location for different events. To plan and build such a big area in one sweep is a chance architects in Switzerland don't`have very often. Earlier the area was an industrial district producing - among others items - machines for bakeries. Planned was the new area by KCAP Architects & Planners from Rotterdam with subsidiaries in Zurich and Shanghai. The green areas were planned by Studio Vulkan. It's a carefree district with a big underground parking. Most of the buildings and the infrastructure were finished 2019.
