The Zhengyangmen Arrow Tower, located at the southern end of Beijing's central axis, was an important part of the defensive system for the Inner City during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Built in 1439 during the Ming Dynasty, the Arrow Tower, together with the Zhengyangmen Gatehouse, formed a complete gate complex. The Arrow Tower stands about 30 meters high and 40 meters wide, with a solid brick and stone base and a wooden structure above. It was equipped with arrow windows, allowing defenders to shoot arrows as part of the city's defense.
