This image captures an F-15 Eagle fighter jet from the 173rd Fighter Wing out of Klamath Falls, Oregon, USA pulling up and turning with full afterburner over Redding California, USA at the Benton Air Faire on October 16, , 2021. The 173d Fighter Wing (173 FW) is an Oregon Air National Guard unit based at Kingsley Field Air National Guard Base. The McDonald Douglas F-15 Eagle is an all weather tactical fighter that first flew in 1972. It has been produced in several variants from the single seat “A” and “C” air superiority variant (I believe this is a “C” model, to the two seat “E” or “Strike Eagle” attack variant as well as training variants, with still more variants proposed for possible future production. It is one of the most successful fighter aircraft ever produced and holds many speed and climb records that are not likely to ever be broken as emphasis in military aviation moves away from raw power and performance toward stealth.
