The new UN building at Copenhagen harbor, inaqurated July 4th 2013 by HM Quen Margrethe of Denmark, is named "The UN City". It covers some 45000 M2 + technical rooms, 5000 M2. It houses 8 different UN organisations: UNOPS (a UN service organisation), UNDP (UNs Development Programme), WHO (UNs health organisation), UNICEF (UN Children's Fund), WFP (UN World food Progam), UNFPA (UN Population Fund), UNEP (UN Environment Programme) og UN WOMEN ( UN Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women). The building, designed by Danish architects 3XN , has been awarded with the "Green Buiding Award Winner" price, 2012, for its environmental measures, like using rain water for toilet flushing, using sea water for office cooling, solar cells on the roofs etc.
