Altre informazioni:
In 1935, Elvis Aaron Presley was born in Tupelo, Mississippi, to Vernon and Gladys Presley. One of the twin brothers of the Presleys, Elvis was born in a two-room house built by his father, grandfather, and uncle. The identical twin, Jessie Garon, died at birth. Vernon and Gladys were financially struggling. They had to move out of the shotgun house when Elvis was only a few years old because of a lack of funds. When Vernon and Gladys lived in Tupelo for thirteen years, they worked a variety of jobs and relocated frequently. Elvis was first exposed to gospel music in Tupelo, where he attended Assembly of God Church with his family. Tupelo's Elvis Presley Birthplace is a museum dedicated to the preservation of the birthplace of American musician Elvis Presley. It is part of the Mississippi Blues Trail. The museum site includes Elvis' birthplace, a chapel, and the Assembly of God Church building where the Presley family worshipped.
