When you walk through Verona, it is easy to understand why Shakespeare used it for the story of Romeo and Juliet. There are cities that are romantic symbols and this is one of them. A city with a hectic history, which is far from being idyllic, as neither love is usually. Lovers, day after day, leave their names written in the supposed Juliet´s house, and padlocks in their bridges that pretend to symbolize eternal love. Most of them seem to forget that the most famous love story of all ended in tragedy. From Castel San Pietro, you have the best view of Verona, climbing here to admire the sunset allows you to photograph it in all its splendor. Although on this hot summer day the sky was not really spectacular, the purple and magenta tones of the twilight impregnated the city with a light very much in keeping with its own character.
