The Saugerties Lighthouse on Esopus Creek and the Hudson River was established in 1835. The existing tower dates from 1869 and is attached to the keeper’s quarters. The lighthouse was automated in 1954 and reactivated in1990. It is currently operational. The lighthouse also functions as a bed and breakfast. Sept. 9, 2018
